Worth The Wait Guy Chronicles Ch. 1:

“So This is What Waiting at 34 Looks Like”

Now, I know what you’re probably thinking:

“Boy, put some clothes on!!!”

“I thought he was supposed to be a 40-year-old virgin???”

“They missed a spot when photoshopping his abs!!!”

“Whatever he’s laughing at can’t be that funny!!!”

Hey, if I were you, I’d probably be thinking the exact same things. So, I’m not mad at you if this was your initial reaction – I actually feel you. But before you make up your mind on who you think I am and what this new blog segment is all about, I’d like to take this opportunity to explain a few things about my journey of celibacy and waiting as a 34-year-old virgin living in Las Vegas aka Sin City. I will be sharing personal stories and testimonies (totally open and transparent) about how I got to this point in my life. Each chapter reads differently. There are some highs and some lows within each moment. Lots of mistakes and triumphs. However, each life event has helped mold the man I’ve become = a man after God’s heart. ❤️

This is Worth The Wait Guy Chronicles… pull up a seat and ride with me.

BACK DOWN MEMORY LANE

It all started 20 years ago when I had “The Talk” with my mom back in 1998. Man, I’m getting up there in age, but I’m gaining more wisdom and knowledge daily. When my mom first explained to me what would evetually happen (that I would become interested in premarital sex), I cut the convesation short, without being disrespectful. I told my mom straight up that she had nothing to worry about – I was going to wait for sex until marriage. My mom looked at me and figured I was trying to be the “perfect” son by saying the “right” thing. But that wasn’t it… I actually believed that I could and would wait for sex until marriage. My thinking was pretty simple: If I waited for my wife, that would be the ultimate gift for her. God’s gift of purity was more valuable than anything money could ever buy. At the ripe age of 14, I thought that was the coolest gift a future husband could give to his future wife (Proverbs 18:22), while honoring my intimate relationship with God at the same time. What can I say… I’ve always been a HOPEFUL ROMANTIC.

IS HE WORTH THE WAIT?

For those who don’t know anything about me, I started my personal blog site, worththewaitguy.com, on my 30th birthday. I revealed to the world via social media that I was a real-life 30-year-old virgin waiting for sex until marriage. I did not do this for self-promotion or vanity. I wanted to show people that they could and should have the confident to embrace their own personal pace in life, no matter how different it may be from the majority. My message was crystal clear: God is worth the wait… not me. In order to be yourself (the person God ultimately wants you to be), you must believe in yourself. Be strong and courageous in your faith at all times because he has your back (Joshua 1:9).

PICTURE THIS

Let’s get back to the aforementioned picture. So, when you look at me, I want you to see the real me, a human being trying to get it “right” by following Jesus Christ. Behind the smile and tattoos are growing pains and seasons of suffering. There is a beautiful story within my struggle and I can’t wait to share it with you. Thank you in advance for your support. God bless. Peace.
