This week, I had the pleasure of traveling to Atlanta, GA to seek future business opportunities for WTWG and LAYOP. It’s always a great feeling being able to see new things in life – as I’m getting older, I’m starting to realize that more and more.
On yesterday, I visited Utopian Academy for the Arts in Riverdale, GA, under the direction of Principal Kelli Peterson of Flint, MI. It felt awesome being back inside a school, especially the classroom. After working with Clark County School District in Las Vegas for three years, I truly miss working with youth on a daily basis. This is the most important time in their lives where they seek guidance and love.
I spoke to Ms. Harris’ art classes about fashion design and entrepreneurship. Her students asked me thoughtful questions – they put me on the hot seat about self-confidence, bullying, studying habits and Instagram. There was a lot of talent in the room and I believe in what Utopian teaches their students: “Be an ADVOCATE for yourself!”
Special thanks to Utopian Academy for being a gracious host – I look forward to seeing you again! 🙂 Back to Vegas this evening…peace!
